Well, as some of you know, my education history is quite a mess. When I started college I originally planned on medical school. It took a short time to realize two very important things. 1) I hate school. 2) When you hate school your grades start to suck. So medical school was no longer an option. I thought I'd do Physician's Assistant school after college just like Miles did. However, Miles himself convinced me not to do this. And since I'm now 26 years old with a wife and daughter I don't have time to finish my degree and start a post-graduate program.
Miles came to the rescue again and told me about becoming a radiology technician. I looked around and called the University of Missouri (Mizzou) and they have a nuclear medicine program. I'm done with all my general credits, so all I'd have to do is take the required courses and I'll be done. I wanted to go to Missouri anyway, so I figured I'd head out to Missouri next year and do this program.
My plans changed recently when I was fired from my job. I was quite shocked when I was told I was suspended pending an investigation. I later learned at the actual termination that it was because of a comment I made. Allow me to write the conversation I had with another staff.
Me: "The kids at this facility are way better than the kids at the Springville Campus. Those kids are incapable of making progress. As far as they're concerned they're never wrong and it's always someone else's fault. It's not them, it's the world. You can't talk to them, you can't process with them, and you just know that once they get out of there they're just gonna drain our tax dollars in prison. It would probably be easier if we just euthanized them. Ok, not really, but you see what I'm saying? At least our kids understand when they've screwed up."
The staff didn't say a word about what I had said, but it turns out that I was fired because of the word euthanize. I was lectured by the HR woman about how she doesn't even support euthanization for animals and it is not ok to say such a thing. I told her that I was joking and I didn't say it around the kids and I would have happily apologized had the staff told me they found it offensive. I bit my tongue on the other things I wanted to say about how I was a good staff for several years and had always received positive reviews from supervisors and they had requested me at this campus because of my record with dealing with these kids and that it's ridiculous to fire a proven staff over one flippant comment. I took my check and left.
Anyway, being suddenly unemployed I decided there was nothing left to hold me in Utah. I have only an online course that I can finish by the end of the month. So I decided it's time to head out. I've been in Utah for too long anyway. I should have graduated from BYU, but instead I got academic suspension. Something about doing very poorly for 3 semesters in a row. It's nice having a wife to motivate me now. I only wish I'd married her earlier. Can't change the past though, so it's off to salvage my education and get a decent job. Missouri, here we come!

YOU looked around and found that the University of Missouri had the program you wanted? As I recall, your amazing wife did all the research to find the schools that had the right program, and your amazing wife got the number to the school and forced you to call so that we could figure out what you needed to do to get in. What would you do without me? :)
We are so happy to have you come to Missouri!
