Nobody Cares

I've come to a realization. Most people just plain don't care about what's going on in the world. Arab Spring? Natural disasters? Economy in the toilet? Nobody cares! If it's not affecting them right this second it doesn't matter. And even if it is affecting them it better not get in the way of Grey's Anatomy. Huge things are happening in the world, but the long and short of it is that people just don't care.

Not only do people not care, but they don't have any background knowledge about anything in the world. Ask any normal American where Iraq or Israel is on a map and they probably couldn't tell you. Where's the Amazon river? Who is Kim Jong Il? What countries made up the Axis powers in World War II? Guess what? Most Americans don't know. I'll bet they can tell you all about that silly royal wedding though. Or those Kardashian girls. America's Next Top Model, American Idol, that pregnant teen girl show. They are experts. I'm embarrassed to be human.
